This 6-hour training is for anyone passionate about nurturing children's emotional and physical wellbeing.
In today's screen-dominated environment, children need movement and mindfulness more than ever. You'll learn how to create engaging opportunities through yoga that help children develop core strength, enhance body awareness, build resilience, improve focus, strengthen emotional regulation skills, and foster positive social connections—all while nurturing their natural creativity and joy of movement.
This workshop equips you with a comprehensive toolkit of engaging practices including adaptive yoga poses, mindful breathing techniques, sensory-friendly props, digital and analog resources, inclusive games, trauma-informed storytelling, and age-appropriate mindfulness techniques. These versatile tools allow you to create inclusive classes that capture children's imagination and support their diverse developmental needs.
We'll explore essential topics including the neuroscience behind yoga benefits for developing minds, inclusive approaches to teaching diverse groups, age-appropriate techniques for different developmental stages, and evidence-based mindfulness practices for anxiety reduction and emotional regulation. You'll have hands-on opportunities to develop and present your own yoga sequences incorporating your unique strengths and creative vision.
This workshop also emphasizes somatic awareness practices for both you and your students—essential tools for managing the stress and anxiety that affects both children and adults in today's fast-paced world. Discover accessible techniques to help children (and yourself) recognize and regulate emotional states through mindful body awareness.
